Priory Quarter is the archaic and rather charming name given to the most historic part of Christchurch in Dorset. The Priory, Castle and Norman House by the river are all over 800 years old! Whilst the wonderful Priory has aged beautifully, the poor old castle was a victim of the English Civil War in the 1600's, but it's still a fabulous place to visit perched on its little mounted and tucked behind the quaint Georgian buildings that line Castle Street and Church Street.
You'll also see glimpses of Christchurch Harbour and Hengistbury Head in the background of this detailed, colourful painting.
