Surfite and Silver Ring
This stunning ring is part of the Margaret Range, its colours remind me of a soft, warm sunset.
The ring is made from EcoSilver and is set with vintage Surfite from Western Australia. EcoSilver is the green alternative to sterling silver. Made of 100% recycled and scrap silver products, Eco Silver can be both treated and worked with in the same way as silver, for the same quality results, it is just simply more environmentally friendly.
I purchase my EcoSilver from Cooksons Gold who use scrap jewellery, medical equipment, electronics and giftware to produce a range of EcoSilver including wire, sheet, grain and solder, all of our which comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Surfite is produced in the making of surfboards. The resin over-spray layers up on the workshop floor to create amazing combinations of colours and patterns. I hand cut, shape and polish the Surfite and then 'bezel set' it in Silver to create unique pieces of jewellery which evoke memories of those perfect, endless summer days.
I love the fact that my supply of raw surfite is vintage. It has a wonderful array of colours from which to choose. Personally, I think that each item of jewellery represents a small slice of surfing history.
This stunning piece of jewellery is perfect for surfers, coastal wanderers and lovers of unique jewellery.
